Francis Cade vs Cape Epic

Back in December I met with Francis having agreed to get involved  on a new project of his, the  Cape Epic 2022. For those who are unaware of this event, its widely regarded as one of the hardest endurance Mountain Bike Races in the world. The event lasts 8 days and covers over 700 kilometres in South Africa, attracting elite professional cyclists from around the world.

I have known Francis for almost 10 years having completed our Cytech mechanics training together. Despite taking very different paths, we have both stayed in the Cycling industry and have kept in touch.  When the opportunity came up to work together, it was too good to pass up!

At VeloElite wheels, we have have been expanding our range of Custom Built Carbon wheels for the past 18 months.   We have recently added a range of cross country mountain bike wheels to our line up. When we found out about Francis’ new custom Wilier mountain bike we worked with him to build him the perfect set of wheels, the VeloElite 350 MTB.

We are can’t wait to see what Francis thinks of the wheels  as we follow his progress on the build up to the Cape epic.
